Programming practice questions

In Dragon Academy, Programming is taught by Ada. Every question a kid answers correctly trains Ada to grow and evolve. Here are real questions from the game — tap an answer to check it.

On this page kids practice computational thinking: giving precise instructions (a sloppy one walks a robot into a wall), spotting infinite loops, IF/THEN decisions, binary's 0s and 1s, and what bugs are and how debugging starts. No coding experience (or computer) is needed. Every question comes with a short explanation and a fun fact worth repeating at dinner.

The four difficulty tiers climb steadily. Easy questions (socks then shoes, or the reverse?) suit 7- and 8-year-olds. Medium (ages 9–10) introduces Ada Lovelace and the first published computer program (1843); hard brings stacks, queues, and off-by-one errors; expert reaches real computer science: tree structures, latency, the stored-program idea, and why adding programmers to a late project makes it later — a genuine stretch for 12- and 13-year-olds and many adults, too.
