Every question comes with a short explanation and a fun fact worth repeating at dinner.
The four difficulty tiers climb steadily. Easy questions — what is a noun? — suit 7- and 8-year-olds with no prior knowledge. Medium asks kids to tell a metaphor from a simile, for ages 9–10; hard brings dramatic irony — when the audience knows what a character doesn't — plus the subjunctive mood and point of view; expert reaches word origins ('telephone' is Greek for 'far sound') and devices like zeugma and litotes, a genuine stretch for 12- and 13-year-olds and for many adults, too.
